Today was a pretty exciting day as I have just handed out the first batch of wedding invitations out to our Edmonton friends and family. Moreover, we have launched our wedding website for all to see. After spending countless hours fixing and changing everything from the layout to wording, I have finally put my foot down. I think I can step back and be happy with the way it now stands. Although I really would like to put in a section for dedications - to thank those who have played a big role in our walk together, I shall leave the site as it is for now. It might be a little hard seeing how I have a tendency to be long-winded and melodramatic. I'll have to mull over it some more with Cyrus.
After our second pre-marriage counseling session, I'm beginning to notice more and more that there are hints of my old-self that has been resurfacing and it's starting to take hold of me. One of these being my stubbornness/unwillingness to accept critiques. I've been finding myself taking in "constructive criticism" or "suggestions" and completely brushing them off then going along with my original plan. There seems to be too much of me and I completely lose perspective (not to mention the result of insulting some people indirectly). Yikes. Which makes me ever so grateful to have people around me who loves me enough to point out such things to me despite knowing that it's going to hurt.
The more wrapped up I'm getting into this bridezilla phenomenon, the harder I have to try to remind myself of the real purpose of our wedding. It's going to be even tougher now that I realize I'll be in HK in about a week 'n a half's time. Boy oh boy. How did Jesus live a life so pure and steer clear of earthy things and temptations? Must.. keep.. praying... harder!
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Matthew 5:2-5
